Hey Kiyah, I’ve been thinking a lot about us, and this is really hard for me to say, but I want to be honest with you because you deserve that. First, I need to say I’m sorry. I’m sorry for the ways I’ve hurt you, for the times I didn’t treat you how you deserved, and for not being the boyfriend I should’ve been. You gave me real love, real effort, and real patience. And when I look back, I can see that I didn’t always give that same energy back to you. There were moments I should’ve stepped up, communicated better, and made you feel more secure and appreciated—but I didn’t. And I know that probably made you feel hurt or confused, and that’s something I truly regret. As much as I care about you, I’ve realized that it’s not fair to keep going like this. You deserve someone who is fully there for you, someone who doesn’t fall short the way I have. Right now, I’m not in the place where I can be that person for you, and it wouldn’t be right for me to keep holding onto you while knowing that. This isn’t because you did anything wrong—because you didn’t. You’ve been more than enough. This is me recognizing my own shortcomings and understanding that I need to grow and figure myself out without continuing to hurt you in the process. It hurts to even think about letting go, because you really do mean a lot to me. What we had was real, and I’ll always carry that with me. But I care about you enough to know that you deserve better than what I’ve been giving you, even if that means stepping away. I’m truly sorry for everything I put you through—for the pain, the disappointment, and the times I let you down. That was never my intention, but I know intentions don’t change how things felt for you. I hope one day you find someone who gives you the kind of love that feels easy, consistent, and secure. Someone who meets you where you are and never makes you question your worth. You deserve that, Kiyah. Thank you for everything you gave me, even when I didn’t fully deserve it.
