WHEN MY STRENGTH RUNS OUT

I smiled when no one could see That inside I was falling apart I said, “I’m fine” so many times Just so no one would ask my heart I carried all my fears alone I hid my tears from everyone But when the night closed every door I couldn’t fake it anymore So I fell down on my knees With no words left to say All I could do was call Your name And wait for You to hear me pray When my strength runs out And I can’t walk anymore Hold on to my hand, my Lord Don’t let me turn away When my strength runs out And hope begins to fade If I have no words to pray Let my tears speak to You instead I once believed that I was alone When no one came to look for me I watched the doors all close before me With nowhere left for me to lean But when I look back, now I see How many times You carried me When I thought that this was the end That was the moment You raised me again I don’t understand Your ways I cannot always see But I have learned that in the silence Your presence stays with me When my strength runs out And I can’t walk anymore Hold on to my hand, my Lord Don’t let me turn away When my strength runs out And hope begins to fade If I have no words to pray Let my tears speak to You instead I don’t need to understand it all I only need to trust If the road is dark before me Your light will find me in the dust And if I fall along the way Your hand will lift me from the ground And if tomorrow I wake up tired Your grace will hold me safe and sound I am not alone...
